I am very sensitive to scents. I avoid candle shops like the plague. I’ve also read a great deal about the not-so-good-for-you stuff in most store-bought air fresheners so I was intrigued by all of the homemade non-toxic alternatives I discovered online. I will continue to catalogue ideas here as I work my way through the list. If you have another suggestion, please let me know. I’d love to add it to the list and give it a try.
DISCLAIMER: I have NOT tried all of these to verify that they do, in fact, actually work. Please refer to the original source for full instructions on each tip.

What a fun series! I have horrible chemical sensitivities as well, so I’ve been using natural cleaners in our home for right around a decade now. I thought I would throw in here that Aura Cacia makes a plug in diffuser that is relatively cheap, and comes with pads for essential oil drops. I think that may be a safer move than emptying out old, synthetic plug-ins. Just my opinion on that. And also- I know this is common sense so please forgive me if I’m stepping out of bounds- but plants do the best job at freshening a home. The rule of thumb is one plant per 100 square feet.
I’m teaching a seminar on this in two weeks at my church- I’m super excited!
