WEEK OF NOVEMBER 18 – 24
IN THE NOTEBOOK, YOU’LL FIND…
FIRST THINGS FIRST: DAILY BREAD
Click the link to read or listen at esvbible.org. If you create an account, you can set up your own Bible reading plan and take notes on the passages you read to save for future reference.
BIBLE STUDY TOOLS
Strong’s Concordance, Matthew Henry Commentary, and you can read the passage in a variety of translations with just a click (via biblestudytools.com)
SCRIPTURE MEMORY HELPERS
To the right of the study tools, there are links to two free Scripture memory tools. Check them out and see if one of them is right for you.
PRAYER GUIDES
The next section contains links to three prayer guides. The guides for praying for your husband and children will be updated with new verses several times a month (with the archives at the bottom of each page). The guide to praying for the world is hosted by Operation World. Just click the link to see today’s country and a list of things to pray.
MUSIC
The last section in the notebook contains links to music that we listen to (for free) and love. Hope you enjoy!
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
{NOT SO} QUIET TIMES FOR KIDS
This will link you to list of resources for nurturing a love for the Word and prayer in your little ones. I will add new resources as I stumble across them.
YOUR SPONSORED CHILD
Many of you are sponsoring children through Compassion International. Our family has sponsored a little girl in Bolivia for the last five years but I’m embarrassed to say how much I’ve struggled to remember to write to her. Can you relate? On the airmail envelope, you’ll find three links to help you connect with your sponsored child: a link to write letters online (this is SO easy!), a prayer guide, and a list of small gifts you can send and how to do it.
THINK ON THIS
Some days I choose to simply meditate (chew on) one or two verses of Scripture for the entire day, rather than reading a longer passage. I’m not rigid about having it memorized at the end of the day, but if I write it on a scrap of paper and carry it around with me, I find that I often commit it to memory without even really trying. I’ll change the verse each week.
READ & LISTEN
These are additional articles and podcasts that have been meaningful to me. I often listen to a podcast or two on laundry day. I hope they refresh you. I’ll update the list weekly, and archive them on a separate page so you can refer back to them later.
OPPORTUNITIES
Each week, I’ll highlight one or two simple, practical ways that you and/or your children can be the hands and feet of Jesus to the world.
