I beg your grace for the unexplained absence. This mother’s heart, like yours, has been reeling over the precious lives lost at Sandy Hook. I have struggled to tap out words that don’t rattle hollow in the abyss of such unfathomable loss. I have craved quiet. Doing less. Being more. Snuggling longer with these babies of mine. Singing this again and again.
The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,
on them has light shined…
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be
upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
ISAIAH 9 : 2 & 6
May His comfort and joy inhabit your heart and home this Christmas.
I’ll return to this space in the new year.
